Kevin Gajda, O.D.

Dr. Gajda graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 2000. He has been with the practice for over 3 years and just recently took it over. He is fairly new to Austin but has lived in Texas for about 7 years. He has worked in many practice settings, including hospital, military, and corporate-based, but enjoys private practice the most. He is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and is a HUGE sports fan, including his hometown Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. In his spare time, he enjoys running, biking, listening to music & traveling.

Rick Irwin, O.D.

Dr. Irwin is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry and has been in practice for 25 years. He opened Eclectic Eyewear in October 1991 and is now enjoying semi-retirement. Away from the practice Dr. Irwin enjoys water gardening, building clay sculptures, and golf. His ceramic pieces can be viewed at www.thefirewithinceramics.com. When he gets the chance, he enjoys hiking the remote mountains in Hawaii, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. This past summer, his pond was chosen as the Featured Pond on the 2008 Austin Pond Society. You can see it on the Central Texas Gardener, which aired on PBS this past summer.

Diana

Diana has been with Eclectic Eyewear for 16 years. She has fantastic people skills and is knowledgeable in all the aspects of the optical, and frame buying. Diana's interests include going to the beach, reading, shopping, and walking her dog, Astro. She participates every year with The Relay for Life Cancer Walk, along with her family. She is also involved with the Safeplace Memory Walk and Hospice Austin.

Kathy

Kathy is our insurance coordinator. She works diligently on filing and following-up on the mounds of claims that accumulate regularly. Occasionally, she gets to help patients pick out frames. Outside of the office, she enjoys playing golf, hiking, and taking road trips with her dog, Kemah.

Zach

Zach is the newest member of our office, coming to Austin from San Antonio. He is from a long line of opticians, having his grandfather & father in the optical business in San Antonio. He just recently passed the ABO exam and now is a Certified Optician. When he is out of the office, he enjoys playing the banjo, guitar, and bass.

Brandi

Brandi is one of our many part-time pre-optometry students. She is a microbiology major with plans to apply for optometry school after earning her bachelor's degree. When not at work, she enjoys swimming and going to concerts.

Catherine

Catherine is another of our part-time pre-optometry students with plans on earning her degree in Human Biology at UT. In her spare time, she likes to swim & drink boba tea while watching sports.

Jacky

Jacky is the 3rd of our 4 pre-optometry students working with us. She just recently learned that she was accepted to the University of Houston College of Optometry for the upcoming fall. While away from the office, she enjoys traveling places with her family and collecting interesting insects with her friends at UT.
